Go To Hell - This Weekend Only!

Posted by Ashley Lopez in April 22nd 2008

Making a deal with the devil has never been this easy! Or this much fun for the dirtbox.tv production crew! Shooting on location in Hell was tricky and it took a lot of super hard work to keep the cast ready to work in that environment. But everyone was great and Mr. Lafong said he was really pleased with the way it all came together at the end.

I was surprised to see the Devil on the set. You know you hear so many things about big stars but he was really nice. He even changed the kids back to normal after the shoot. He asked about my plans and I told him that I’m working on being an actress. So he said he could totally help me. That’s when Mr. Lafong came up and asked me to get him a Diet 7up. He’s so wierd sometimes.

Anyway, check out the video. It’s been on the dirtbox site for a while but we just released it today to all the other video sites like You Tube and Funny or Die, Super Deluxe, Jib Jab and stuff like that.

Bye!

Dirtbox Video Animation Scheduled For Release

Posted by Ashley Lopez in April 14th 2008

Producer Carl LaFong has added cartoon animation to an upcoming production scheduled for release this week.

Mr. LaFong, who’s long list of film credits includes, “Motorcycle Death Ride” and “Vampire Vixens” has never attempted animation before.

“I’m sick of paying fu**in’ actors!” said Mr. Lafong. “You know how much it would have cost me to put some a**hole in a polar bear suit? I’ve got two guys sitting on their a**es in an edit suite. They’re not worth a sh*t on camera but they made this psychotic cartoon polar bear look like the real thing and I oughta know.”

The project was animated using Toonboom Studio Pro and After Effects.

And what does Mr. LaFong think of the new software? “How the hell should I know. Does it save me money? Yeah? So it’s good. Can you get me another Diet 7up honey? Not too much ice, my teeth are sensitive”.

The new video will be released exclusively to dirtbox.tv.

“Eat Our Shorts” - On the Menu During SBIFF

Posted by Ashley Lopez in April 9th 2008

I wish we had some better stuff to put in here about the big premiere event for dirtbox.tv  but  Mr. LaFong told me to go ahead and post this one because it’s the only write up we got.   Then he asked me if I thought I could find a new PR Company for dirtbox.   I don’t know anybody so if you’ve got any ideas, let me know!

LOCAL PRODUCER TRIES TO CRASH FILM FEST

Carl LaFong and Guest

By  Arthur Rich  - Entertainment Editor

You could taste the excitement as Carl LaFong and Dirtbox.TV invited hundreds of celebrities from the film capitol to the star studded evening premeire event, “Eat Our Shorts!” at Restaurant Roy. The several dozen or so guests who actually arrived were treated to an evening of laughter and thought provoking social commentary which was quickly drowned by large quantities of cheap wine from Trader Joe’s.

“Eat Our Shorts” was an event designed to showcase the major clout which Santa Barbara’s International Film Festival now wields with Hollywood’s elite and Santa Barbara’s own burgeoning film colony. But since the event was held on a Wednesday evening,  a howitzer fired down State St. would not have harmed anyone on the nearly deserted sidewalks.

Carl LaFong abruptly arrived with his date, the flashy/trashy actress, “Cherie Canary” who blurted out orders to staff in Italian as she escorted the pint sized LaFong to his reserved table behind a wall of Hometown Security staff.  He ditched his own event just 10 minutes later and headed outside for a limo which had yet to arrive.

BSN news cameras and the requisite paparazzi then caught the real show business glamor of a personal assitant being reamed in Italian by a B list film star and her bored or perhaps sedated producer boyfriend.

While there’s no guarantee that dirtbox.tv will still be around in a year,  we can assume the SBIFF will be. That suggests to me that if Carl LaFong is still working in this town a year from now, we’ll no doubt see another spectacular Premiere event.  But that’s far from certain.

dirtbox.tv shooting pilot webisodes with Mo Mandel

Posted by Ashley Lopez in March 28th 2008

Hi!

It’s Ashley with the latest from dirtbox.tv!

I’ve been working in the production office for dirtbox.tv for a few days and there’s SO so much to learn! I feel like a total dork but everyone has been really nice to me, especially Mr. LaFong. He’s offered to take me to lunch and tell me all about his film career as a producer in Hollywood!

Last week I got to work with the crew on shooting 2 webisodes for a pilot. It’s kind of hard to explain what it’s all about because the shoot was like all over the place for a couple of days. Which is how they work. So it’s not like they shoot it all in order to make the story.

Anyways, I got to work with the star, Mo Mandel. Well, actually, he kind of followed me around a lot so I just tried to be helpful. Does that make sense? But really he’s cute and funny and he does this stand up comedy thing. But he also talks to himself all the time. It’s weird.

So that’s all for now! Be sure to visit dirtbox.tv!

bye!
